Principal’s Message

Dear Desert Thunder School Community,

With great excitement and anticipation, I extend my warmest greetings to every member of the Desert Thunder family. As your principal, I am honored to continue this journey with all of you, striving for excellence as we Soar to the Top… Learning, Learning, Learning!

For those who may not know me yet, my name is Dr. Stacy Ellis, and I am deeply privileged to lead Desert Thunder School. This institution has been a cornerstone of my professional journey since its opening year in 2004. I had the honor of being an original staff member, teaching middle school ELA and science. I then progressed to the roles of Dean of Students and Assistant Principal, experiences that deeply rooted Desert Thunder in my heart. My time here has profoundly influenced both my professional and personal life. Over the past 11 years, I have served as the principal at Copper Trails School, where I have observed the growth, resilience, and vibrant spirit that define Desert Thunder.

Following in the footsteps of my esteemed mentors, Dr. Janet Beason and Mr. Wayne Deffenbaugh, I am committed to fostering a culture of open communication, trust, and mutual respect. I invite each member of our community to actively participate in shaping the future of Desert Thunder School as we work towards our collective vision of educational excellence.

In the coming weeks and months, I look forward to getting to know you better and listening to your insights, ideas, and aspirations for our school. Together, there is no limit to what we can achieve.

Thank you for entrusting me with the privilege of serving as your principal. Let us embrace the journey ahead with optimism, resilience, and a shared commitment to excellence.

Warm regards,

Dr. Stacy E. Ellis
